After Connecting Components My Vizio Tv Won'T Turn On

Vizio makes LCD, plasma and 3-D TVs.

Your Vizio television needs proper installation, which includes secure connections of all cables and components. Normally, proper installation leads to a working television, but, in some cases, a technical malfunction may prevent your television from working. If your Vizio TV does not work even after you have connected all component cables, troubleshoot it to determine why.

Instructions

1. Unplug all component connections, including the power source, and leave all cables disconnected for at least 30 seconds.

2. Reconnect all wires and make sure all connections are properly connected into the correct ports. Consult the television's owner's manual for correct component cable setup.

3. Plug the power source into an outlet and turn on your TV. Unplugging your television from its power source and then plugging it back in reboots the TV, similar a computer during a warm boot. If your television still does not work, contact Vizio customer support (see Resources section). If your Vizio works but still has technical problems, further troubleshoot common problems.

No Signal Display

4. Turn on your television.

5. Press the INPUT button on the side of your TV repeatedly until the Input Menu screen appears on your television.

6. Switch to a different input, such as HDMI or audio/video, or AV. A No Signal message indicates that your television can't find a device to receive a signal from, so switch inputs until the television detects a signal.

Screen Flickers

7. Disconnect all component cables from your television and your device (cable box, receiver, video game console, and so on). Do not unplug your television from its power source.

8. Access the advanced video settings in your television's menu.

9. Turn off all advanced video settings, including ambient lighting, backlight control and advanced adaptive luma. If your television continues to flicker, plug it into another outlet.

Change Power Outlet

10. Turn off your television.

11. Unplug your television from its power source.

12. Press and hold the power button on your television for at least 30 seconds while the television is unplugged. Release the power button.

13. Plug your television into a different outlet.

14. Turn on your television. If the TV still isn't working, reset it.

Reset the TV

15. Access your television's main menu.

16. Enter the SETUP menu.

17.Select Reset All Settings or System Reset to reset your television to its default factory settings. If your television still does not work, contact Vizio customer support.
