Lock Directv

Your DirecTV receiver allows you to block your children from viewing inappropriate materials. You can set limits on the hours your kids can watch TV, and limit the maximum amount on pay-per-view purchase. Your DirecTV receiver can also block programs and individual channels. When you try to tune in to a blocked program or channel, the receiver will prompt you for the passcode you entered during the set-up process.

Instructions

1. Press the MENU button on the DirecTV remote.

2. Open Parental Controls and select Edit Settings. The DirecTV will display the list of categories. The default setting is Unlocked.

3. Select Ratings to lock the settings for movies and TV programs. To block TV shows without ratings, choose the Other tab.

4. Select Chan Blocks to set blocks for individual stations. If you want to block a large number of stations, choose Block All and manually disable the locks on the ones you want to allow.

5. Choose Spending to set the maximum price on pay per view purchases. This setting is for single purchases.

6. Open Hours to set locks on the viewing times. You can set different locks for Sunday, Monday through Thursday, and Friday and Saturday.

7. Select Lock Now to enable the lock and apply your settings. The receiver will prompt you to enter a passcode.
