Get Rid Of A Blemish Overnight

Keep your face clean to prevent worsening the blemish.

It happens to all of us at some point or another -- the day before a big event you notice a blemish has set up camp on your face. In these situations acting quickly and calmly will make all the difference in getting that blemish gone before your event. Knowing banish it overnight can leave you waking to clear skin when you truly need it.

Instructions

1. Wash your face immediately when you notice the blemish. Remove all makeup and rub cleanser gently around the blemish. Rinse clean with warm water and dry skin with a clean washcloth. Do not put on any lotions or makeup until the blemish has cleared.

2. Place toothpaste in the refrigerator for later use.

3. Wash your pillowcase. This keeps oil buildup on it from worsening your blemish as you sleep.

4. Sanitize any items that come near your face, such as your phone, by dabbing a cotton ball in some rubbing alcohol and wiping them down.

5. Wash your hands regularly throughout the day with antibacterial soap. Avoid touching your face at all times.

6. Drink only water throughout the day. Skip carbonated, caffeinated or alcoholic beverages, all of which can contribute to dry skin and overproduction of oil. Water will help keep skin hydrated and prevent dryness. Also avoid eating greasy foods; stick to veggies and fruits to give skin the vitamins it needs to heal.

7. Repeat Step 1 prior to going to bed. Dab face dry then apply a pea-sized amount of baking soda toothpaste on the blemish. Make sure to cover the whole blemish and the skin around it, but do not rub it in. The toothpaste helps dry up the area and refrigerating it beforehand will allow it to reduce swelling.

8. Go to bed early enough to allow yourself at least eight hours of sleep. While fast action is important in clearing a blemish overnight, so is ample sleep. If you can't get eight hours of sleep, try to get as much as possible.

Tips Warnings

If you have sensitive skin, sample this technique by watering out the lemon with half lemon consistency, half water. Rub the garlic on your blemish for less than a minute.
