Weil Mclain 68 oil fired boiler efficiency
Hello and thanks in advance, I received this boiler as a gift from a heating contractor friend of mine as he went into retirement. Weil Mclain 68 rear flue Beckett AFG Firing packaged boiler with a pump attached PB-268. Where can I look to find the efficiency rating on the boiler. Unit was new in the crate produced in 1993 I believe. If the unit is a good one as determined here I will use it at my new cottage which has 5 return and 5 supply 5/8 hepex tubes installed and marked for 2 zones. Also because the home was bult with out a chimney provision, is any one familiar with the ss2 Tjerlund direct vent system? I would have to purchase it or similiar to fire unit. Thanks, Kevin I don't know if AFUE ratings are available for that boiler or not. A fair guess would be in the 80-85% range. The SS2 is a good piece of equipment when installed properly. If at all possible install it on the leeward side of the house. If you can put some kind of decorative wind break a few feet out from the venter it can be a big help.
