Choose The Correct Shade Of Dermablend

Choose the Correct Shade of Dermablend

Dermablend makeup is a specially designed line of cosmetics that cover skin imperfections that other brands of cosmetics cannot. The brand consists of thick liquid concealer, foundation, powder and several other items to use in the concealing process. Dermablend can completely cover discolorations such as birthmarks, rosacea, spider veins, freckles and even tattoos. The most important step in achieving an invisible coverage is to select the correct shade of Dermablend for the skin.

Instructions

1. Visit a store with a makeup counter that sells Dermablend cosmetics. Use the link located in the Resources section below to locate a Dermablend store.

2. Use the shade selector chart, available at the Dermablend makeup counter, to locate shades close to your skin color. The shade selector chart is a piece of clear plastic that has several makeup shades on it. Hold each shade over your neck area, look into a mirror and select the two or three that are closest to your natural skin tone.

3. Use a clean sponge, provided at the makeup counter, to apply one shade to your neck in a 1-inch strip. Test makeup colors on the neck rather than hand, as the neck is closer to the color of your face.

4. Apply the other two makeup colors in 1-inch strips beside the first color.

5. Walk outside or stand near a window and hold a mirror up to your neck area. Natural sunlight is necessary to determine which shade matches your skin the best.

6. Examine the makeup shades to determine which is closest to your natural skin color. The correct shade blends into the skin and is not noticeable.

Tips Warnings

Always visit a store to purchase makeup so that it can be applied to the skin. The Dermablend website provides a makeup shade selector tool, however, colors on a computer screen are not the same as the actual makeup colors. Visiting a store to test shades is still the best option.
