Serve sangria in a martini glass but do not add ice.
Sangria is a versatile mixed drink. Fruit-flavored liqueurs, fruit juices, orange slices, lime slices, apple slices, pineapple wedges and club soda are among the ingredients added to wine to make sangria. Refrigerate the mixture several hours or overnight to infuse the wine with flavor. Sangria is served in a variety of glasses; the selection depends on whether the recipe calls for it to be served with or without ice.
Considerations
Sangria should be enjoyed cold, so serve it in a glass with a stem so your hands don't warm the mixture. If your recipe calls for the sangria to be served over ice, choose a glass large enough to hold ice cubes and several ounces of sangria.
Wine Glass
Since sangria is a wine-based beverage, many bartenders serve it in wine glasses. Wine glasses designed to serve shiraz are larger than other varieties and provide enough room for the sangria and ice, if your recipe calls for it.
Margarita Glasses
Many Mexican restaurants serve sangria in margarita glasses, which are roomy and decorative. Margarita glasses are also wide enough to easily be garnished with some of the fruit from the pitcher of sangria, such as orange or pineapple slices.
Martini Glasses
The triangular bowl of a martini glass provides an elegant vessel for sangria, but is not designed to hold ice. Use martini glasses for sangria recipes served without ice.
