Make A Hair Lotion

A homemade hair lotion can improve the luster of your locks.

Hair lotion or conditioner moisturizes your hair and keeps it looking silky, shiny and healthy. Making your own hair lotions at home doesn't require that you be an expert in chemistry; in fact, it's an enjoyable and easy-to-accomplish beauty craft. Making your own hair lotion allows you the ability to take charge of the ingredients and benefits your need for your hair to look its best.

Instructions

1. Mix all of the oil ingredients such as hemp seed oil and soy butter in a glass bowl containing the distilled water.

2. Mix in the rose hip extract, which is a powder, using a whisk to fully disperse it.

3. Add the Polysorbate 80 to the bowl of oil and water; then sit it aside.

4. Add the wax to a separate glass bowl. Microwave it on high until it melts into a clear liquid. This ordinarily takes about two minutes for one cup of Lanette O wax beads.

5. Remove the melted wax from the microwave and heat up the bowl of oils and water for two minutes.

6. Remove the bowl of oils and water and insert the hand mixer into it. Turn the hand mixer on a low setting.

7. Drizzle the melted wax into the mixing oil and water solution very slowly, as you mix the contents into a foam.

8. Mix the bowl containing wax, oil and water for approximately five minutes.

9. Let the bowl of hair lotion sit at room temperature for an hour. It will thicken up into a rich cream.
