Replace A Biozone 500 Bulb

The Biozone 500 Air Purifier is a device that cleans air by killing mold and bacteria using ultraviolet light. The 500 model can effectively filter air up to a 500-foot radius. The interior of the air purifier contains an UV light bulb that must be replaced after 9,000 hours of use, or approximately one year. Replacement of the bulb in a timely manner is critical for the system to continue cleaning the air properly.

Instructions

1. Turn off the Biozone 500 unit and unplug it from the wall.

2. Purchase a replacement bulb for the Biozone 500. Examine the side or back of the Biozone Air Filter and locate a sticker that displays the required bulb number. The bulb number starts with the letter "D" followed by three to four numbers.

3. Turn the Biozone unit around to access the back panel.

4. Locate two plastic tabs located on the back of the unit. Push these tabs in with your fingers to open the unit. Older Biozone systems contain screws which must be removed with a screwdriver to open the back of the unit.

5. Grasp either end of the old bulb in both hands and pull straight out away from the unit.

6. Insert the new bulb into the bulb sockets by pressing the bulb in until both ends are secure.

7. Replace the back cover of the unit by pushing the cover in until audible clicks are heard from both tabs. In older Biozone units, use a screwdriver to reinsert the screws.

8. Plug the Biozone 500 unit back into the wall and turn it on.
