AndroGel brings relief to men whose bodies do not manufacture the testosterone needed to perform some bodily functions adequately. Testosterone
The male body manufactures testosterone naturally and uses it in a number of bodily processes. AndroGel adds testosterone in a way that raises its level in men whose bodies do not naturally generate sufficient quantities of the substance.
Application
Apply AndroGel in the morning. Spread the prescribed amount of gel on your shoulders or upper arms. Make sure the area you use is clean and dry and that the skin is not broken.
Clothing
Allow the gel to dry for five minutes before covering it with clothing. However, do be sure to cover the application area after it has dried to prevent others from coming into contact with the gel. Wash your hands with soap and water to remove any remaining gel from your fingers.
Warning
Women should not touch or be exposed to AndroGel. The gel can cause birth defects in unborn children as well as the appearance of symptoms of male features, such as the onset of male pattern baldness and the growth of excessive body hair.
Prevention/Solution
If a woman does contact the gel, she should wash the exposed area with soap and water immediately. If she later develops the symptoms described above, she should call her doctor.
