Lemurian quartz comes from Brazil, Russia, Tibet, Zambia and the United States. Crystal practitioners claim Lemurian quartz that comes from Brazil develops a pink tinge when worked, and from the Ural Mountains of Russia it develops a blue tint. Some believe that inhabitants of the ancient land of Lemuria left messages in the quartz for those who would find them in modern times.
Differences
Individuals who discovered the Lemurian crystals report that the first crystals were found as individual crystals located in sand banks near a crystal mine on a mountain in Brazil. The Lemurian quartz located several years later in the Ural Mountains also occurred as individual crystals and were located near a former crystal mine. Quartz normally occurs in clusters of crystals in caves or areas of rock. Those who discovered the crystals claim that the Lemurians stored ancient wisdom in the crystals that humanity needs today.
Appearances
Lemurian quartz crystals appear clear with a frosted appearance toward the base of the crystal. In some lights, the crystals may take on a pink, blue, gold, smoky or rainbow appearance. The crystals have ladder-like striations along the face, and may exhibit hieroglyph-type markings on the crystal face when viewed with a magnifying glass. Raised triangles of crystal may appear on some or all of the faces.
Purpose
Crystal workers believe that the inhabitants of Lemuria, or Mu, left information imbedded in the crystals. This information includes bring balance to the spiritual and physical aspects of life, bring peace to the planet and use the healing energy perfected by the Lemurians. They claim users of the stones can enter deeper meditative states and access ancient wisdom and spirit guides with the stones. They access the healing energy of the crystals to real across distances and bring transformation to those who need it.
Use
Clear the mind prior to picking up the crystal. Touch it to the third eye, located just above where your eyebrows meet. Hold the crystal lightly in your hand and trace the striations with your left index finger as you open up your heart and mind to the wisdom located inside. Ask for what you need as you focus your eyes on the formations within the crystal. Follow the patterns into the crystal and allow your mind to explore the landscape and facets you find there.
Katrina Raphael says you can take the crystal in your hand and walk around a person, place or thing for three full circuits and create a protective light circle. She also reports that you can place the Lemurian quartz in crystal stone grids to create powerful healing energy.
