What Are The Sizes Of Durex Avanti

Before using the Durex Avanti it is important to ensure that the size is right for you.

Safe sex begins with the condom. However, allergies to latex can cause problems for some users. Symptoms of a latex allergy usually appear within 12 to 36 hours of latex condom use and range from mild symptoms, such as a rash or hives, or severe symptoms such as anaphylactic shock. Latex is derived from a natural rubber found in tropical trees. Allergic reactions are due to an allergy to a protein in the rubber. Luckily, there are non-latex condoms, such as the Durex Avanti, which are safe for such users.

Basics

The Durex Avanti is a non-latex condom, made from polyisoprene. People with latex allergies can safely use the Durex Avanti Bare or Durex Avanti Ultima condom. Because they are not made from latex, they do not smell of latex and they are also softer than the average condom. The Ultima is thinner than latex, while the Durex Avanti Bare touts a 'next-to-nothing' feel for a more sensual experience. Both are lubricated and warm to body temperature, in addition to having a reservoir tip. Because every penis is different, it is important to consider the size and fit of the Durex Avanti, as comfort and protection is just as important as pleasure.

Length

Both the Durex Avanti Bare and the Durex Avanti Ultima are 7.09 inches in length, which is long enough to fit the average erect penis. When erect, the average penis is approximately 6 to 7 inches long. When flaccid, the average penis typically measures between 3 and 4 inches from the tip to the base. If your penis is longer than 7 inches when erect, the Durex Avanti is not for you, as an ill fitting condom can provide a lack of protection, in addition to discomfort.

Width and Thickness

The Durex Avanti Bare is 56mm or 2.20 inches wide. The head width is slightly wider, at 2.52 inches. The Durex Avanti Ultima, however, is not as wide as the Bare. The circumference of the Ultima totals 112mm. The Bare is also slightly thinner than the Ultima. The Bare is approximately 0.04mm thick, while the Ultima is 0.05mm thick.

Considerations

The process for making non-latex condoms is more complex; therefore, Durex Avanti condoms are more costly than the average latex condom. For this reason, it is important to ensure proper fit before purchasing a large box of these condoms. Polyisoprene condoms are both dermatologically and electronically tested to ensure safety. The Durex Avanti is lubricated, however, the lubrication does not contain spermicide, which is important to consider if you are using it for pregnancy prevention. Oil based lubricants are unsafe to use with the Durex Avanti, as they can damage the condom. Do not use lubricants, such as petroleum jelly or vegetable and mineral oils, when using this condom.
