Make Magnesium Chloride Oil

Magnesium chloride is a water soluble salt, and one of the most important minerals the body uses for cell metabolism. As a basic electrolyte, magnesium chloride is required to maintain almost all aspects of proper bodily function. Taking extra magnesium may help promote better health and bodily function; one way to do so is by rubbing a magnesium chloride and water solution onto your skin. Magnesium chloride "oil" is so named because the magnesium chloride makes the water feel oily. Magnesium chloride oil is available at health stores, but you can save money by making your own.

Instructions

1. Determine how much oil you want to make. The International Medical Veritas Association recommends a solution of 30 percent to 35 percent magnesium chloride; measure out about 2/3 of the desired volume of oil in distilled water, and 1/3 in magnesium chloride.

2. Steadily pour your magnesium chloride crystals into the water until you have reached the desired quantity.

3. Mix the solution until all of the crystals have dissolved into the water. It should feel oily and smooth, with no grit.
