What Are Foods That Stop Pain & Ringing In The Ears

Ringing in the ears, or tinnitus, has several causes, according to Chinese medicine. Factors contributing to this condition include a poor diet, a disruption of the flow of energy in the body causing congestion and heat, and emotional difficulties. These can be remedied by eliminating and adding specific foods to the diet.

Diet

One of the main causes of congestion and heat in the body comes from a diet high in fatty, fried and cholesterol-rich animal products. Consumption of saturated fats such as lard, beef, cheese, shortening and refined and rancid oils are difficult to digest and overwork the liver. What can't be digested and eliminated from the body become toxins and create uncomfortable symptoms and illness.

Emotions

Anger, frustration, impatience and repression of the emotions combined with a poor diet impede proper liver function. Almost as important as diet in contributing to health problems such as tinnitus, finding ways to deal with our emotions can greatly reduce the signs and symptoms associated with ringing in the ears.

Pain

Pungent foods such as onion, turmeric, basil, ginger, black pepper, licorice and horseradish help to generate movement and relieve discomfort in the body such as pain and distention. Boiling sweet basil, fresh ginger and licorice in water and drinking it as a tea promotes circulation of pent-up energy and, in turn, relief from nagging pain.

Ringing

A less well-known remedy for relieving ringing in the ears is boiling equal amounts of sunflower seeds (including shells) and rock sugar on low heat for approximately 30 minutes, then drinking it twice a day.

Other Helfpul Foods

Raw foods such as sprouted grains, beans, fresh vegetables and fruits stimulate liver flow and help dissipate heat. A tablespoon of honey and apple cider mixed in eight ounces of water is detoxifying and stimulates free energy flow. Beets, taro, sweet rice, strawberry, peach, cherry, cauliflower, broccoli, flax seed oil and aloe vera gel are also helpful foods.

Cautions

Excess consumption of alcoholic beverages or other intoxicants, chemicals in food and water and highly processed food should be avoided.
