Essential Oil Used To Promote Hair Growth

Natures Pharmecopia

Essential oils used to promote hair growth are simple and affordable. You can make your own or buy them at health and herb stores. Essential oils are a natural way to nourish, enhance and strengthen your hair follicles without toxic chemical treatments. Essential oils encourage growth and improve the appearance of your hair dramatically by increasing its fullness and shine.

Essential Oils for Hair Beauty

Many essential oils and herbs will increase the health and growth of your hair. Such oils as jojoba, rosemary, evening primrose, rapeseed oil and olive oil can be combined with herbs to create effective hair care remedies for hair thinning and hair loss. These herbs include, but are not limited to, ginger, cayenne, mustard, clove, nettle, arnica, sage, cedarwood, thyme, bay, basil and lavender. These ingredients can be found at herb or health-food stores.

Doing It Yourself

Essential oils and herbs increase peripheral circulation and nutrition. You can make your own hair tonic by adding kitchen herbs such as mustard, cayenne, ginger, nettle or basil to olive oil in an amber bottle to protect it from UV damage. Place 2 teaspoons of the herbs that are available to you in an 8-ounce dark bottle of olive oil and let sit in a dark place for about two weeks. After it has had a chance to distill, rub the tonic into your hair for a matter of minutes, hours or overnight, and then shampoo and condition normally. After a period of four to six weeks, you will notice an improved luster to your hair and increased growth and natural shine.

Other Recipes

There are many recipes for hair tonics that you can make yourself. One recipe is to use olive oil with mustard, cayenne, black pepper and ginger. You can mix this into an oil or a paste, leaving it in as long as desired. Wash, rinse and condition when finished. These remedies take weeks to take effect.
