Determine If Your Nose Is Broken

The nose sticks out of the middle of our face, making it an easy target for many things. Unfortunately it is also quite sensitive, making it very easy to break or fracture. Trying to tell the difference between a broken nose and a bruised nose can be very hard to do since in both cases the nose might be swollen. If you look carefully though, you will be able to tell the difference.

Instructions

1. Look at the shape of your nose. If your nose appears to be leaning off to one side or in a strange shape, there is a good chance it is broken.

2. Check for any indentations or bumps. If there are any bones in your nose sticking out or seem more sunken in than usual, this may be an indication of a broken nose.

3. Breathe through your nose. Difficulty breathing is one of the signs of a broken nose. Seeing a doctor as soon as possible is highly recommended as your nose will begin to set very soon after it is broken. The healing process only takes about ten days, and many doctors refuse to fix a broken nose after two weeks. If you don't want your nose to stay looking the way it is, having it looked at should be a priority.
