It is easy to understand why an hourglass figure is most desirable. It is feminine, womanly, and sexy. Unfortunately for women, not all of them have it. In fact, many of them don't. This does not mean she is undesirable, it just means she is unique and an individual. Thankfully, clothing gives a woman many opportunities to make it look like she has an hourglass figure. The right clothing will help her accentuate the curves she wants, and minimize the ones she doesn't.
Instructions
1. Buy tops that cinch at the smallest part of your waistline. Make sure you try them on, because not all of them gather at the same part. Many shirts have an empire waistline that is very flattering and makes you like you have an hourglass shape without looking heavy.
2. Look for bottoms that balance out your hips if you have large ones, or give you hips if you have none. Pants that balance out your hips have are flared out and have a darker wash. They fit right under your belly-button, which means no ultra low-rise jeans. Ultra low-rise jeans are reserved for those that have no hips. Straight leg jeans would also work best on those that would like to emphasize smaller hips.
3. Find dresses that have an empire waistline. This style of dress gives the illusion that any body is an hourglass shape because of where it fits on your body.
4. Purchase a trench coat or jacket that either has a belt that ties around the waist to give the impression of a smaller waist or is cinched at the waist.
5. Make sure the clothing fits properly. Sometimes women think that they are certain size in all clothing, but this is not true. Clothing can very in sizes dramatically. A woman may be a size 8 in one pair of jeans, be a size 10 in another pair, and be a size 6 in yet another. It is important that no matter what the number says, it fits your body well, not too snug and not too loose.
