The body has a different physical reaction to different colors.
Color therapy has been used throughout the centuries to heal the human body and ease the human mind. Believers in color therapy believe that color impacts humans on every fundamental level: physical, spiritual and emotional. How the body responds to the energy of light, and how color affects that light, has been attributed to how moods change, both in positive ways and negative.
Red
Red physically stimulates the body, which causes your heartbeat and breath to quicken and your blood temperature to rise. Additionally it can stimulate your metabolism. In color therapy, red is typically associated with the base chakra in the sacral region, and can combat such ailments as lack of energy and impotence by making you feel more vibrant, sexual and powerful.
Orange
Orange also works as a stimulant, and works to combine your mental quality with your physical energy. This color makes you feel happier and more joyous, and promotes a general feeling of health in regards to stimulating your digestive system and strengthening the immune system. It also stimulates your sex organs.

Green
In color therapy, green is the color of the heart chakra, and its predominance in nature represents harmony with all of the earth. Blue
Conversely, blue has a calming effect because it slows the metabolism. Deep blue affects the pituitary gland, and in turn, regulates sleep patterns. This is why blue is used in bedrooms, or any rooms where color is needed to promote relaxation. In
Purple
Purple is a color rarely found in nature; it therefore has a regal quality. The combination of red and blue helps detoxify the body. It suppresses the appetite and regulates metabolism, and also has a purifying and antiseptic effect. Violet can bring you peace when you feel fearful, and it stimulates creativity, spirituality and even compassion. Indigo can have a narcotic effect, and is used in certain medical facilities for its numbing qualities.
