Signs Of Nerve Damage

The nervous system is very complex. Nerve damage or pinched nerves can affect your quality of life. Nerve damage can happen as the result of a car accident, an injury or a complication of some diseases.


Weakness


Weakness that comes on suddenly and causes problems in your daily functioning might be a sign of nerve damage. Weakness can occur anywhere on the body but most often afflicts the legs and arms.


Numbness


Loss of sensation or numbness can be caused from nerve damage. This can happen anywhere on the body, but numbness is most often noticed in the hands and feet.


Prickling


Experiencing a prickling or stinging sensation on your skin could be caused by nerve damage. This can be noticed in the hands and feet as well.


Twitching


Muscle twitching, especially in the major muscle groups, can be caused by nerve damage. Nerve twitching can happen anywhere on the body, but most often is detected in the legs and arms.


Excess Sweating








Profuse sweating can be a sign that you many have nerve damage. Nerve damage can prevent the sweat glands from working properly by not sending the right information to the glands.
