Vinegar For Skin Problems

There are various natural remedies that make it so easy and affordable to take care of ourselves. Vinegar is one of them. Not only are vinegars, like apple cider vinegar, known for supporting good health and a strong immune system when taken internally, they are also a solution for many skin problems.

The skin is our largest organ, so taking care of its protective acid mantle is essential for good health. Vinegar for skin problems works as a remedy for many situations.

Gentle Facial Treatment

Add apple cider vinegar to a basin of warm water to rinse your skin each night. You can also add vinegar to a bowl of steaming hot water and hold your head over the bowl with a towel for a deep cleansing facial treatment. The steam opens your pores drawing out the impurities. Finish the treatment by wiping your skin with a cotton ball soaked in apple cider vinegar, which acts as a refreshing, gentle toner.

Sunburn

To reduce swelling, pain and blistering, take a clean, sterile cloth soaked in apple cider vinegar and gently blot the affected area. Soaking in a bath containing apple cider vinegar will also provide instant relief, removing the pain and heat of the burn. It also helps keep the skin sanitized to prevent infection from occurring. Keep in mind that some sunburns are more serious. You should consult with a doctor if you have a second or third degree burn rather than treating it yourself.

Insect Bites

Mix apple cider vinegar with cornstarch to create a paste. Apply the paste directly to insect bites. It takes away the pain and/or itching and helps draw out the insect venom.

Soothing Skin Spritz

Vinegar is an ideal treatment for dry, flaky, irritated skin. Mix half a bottle of warm water with half a bottle of apple cider vinegar. After your shower, spritz the solution all over your body. Massage and rub the solution into your skin. Wait about 5 minutes and then step back into the shower to rinse it off. This should be done at least twice a week. Your skin will be invigorated and refreshed. This ritual is ideal for reducing the appearance of varicose veins in legs. Make sure to massage the affected areas deeply in the direction of your heart.

First Aid for Common Skin Problems

Diaper rash, eczema, psoriasis, chicken pox, poison ivy, poison oak and other skin irritations can all be effectively treated by soaking in a vinegar bath.
