A line chart is a type of graph that is a visual representation of the changes in data using an X axis and a Y axis. For example, a line graph could show a company's stock price over five years. You can create a line graph using the Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet application. First, create a chart for your data in the spreadsheet of the application. Next, insert the style of line chart you want into the spreadsheet when your data chart is highlighted. You can then edit the line graph to meet your preferences using the Chart Tools feature that becomes available after you insert the new chart.
Instructions
1. Open the Microsoft Excel 2007 application on your computer and click on the "Microsoft Office" button. Click on the "Open" option.
2. Locate the file on your computer that contains the data you want to turn into a line graph. Select the file and then click on the "Open" button.
3. Click on the "Insert" tab and then click on the "Line" option from the "Charts" group. Click on the "Line with Markers" option.
4. Use your mouse to highlight the data within the spreadsheet that also contain labels for the rows and columns. The Chart Tools feature now becomes available.
