Get Rid Of Scabies In Your House

Scabies is the medical term for annoying little parasites that burrow tunnels underneath the skin and lay eggs. Scabies causes intense and nearly painful itching that lasts until the scabies is treated. Treatment for the human body is usually done through an insecticide called Permethrin. It is just as important to get rid of scabies in your home as it is to treat your body. Scabies can live for up to 48 hours without a human host. This means scabies can still be on your linens, towels and bed sheets even after you have gone through treatment for scabies which, means you will contract it again.

Instructions

1. Put the Permethrin cream all over your body as this kills scabies as it comes across them. Your doctor will prescribe a medication to rid your body of scabies. Most likely this will be Permethrin. Anyone else is the household need also be treated for scabies. Apply the Permethrin before beginning the cleanup of your home to protect yourself and protect the items you are cleaning from further contamination of scabies.

2. Strip all beds of bed sheets and all couches or chairs with seat covers. Wash everything in hot water and dry on the hot cycle of the dryer.

3. Wash all clothes that have been worn and all towels that have been used in hot water and dry on the hot cycle of the dryer.

4. Disinfect any upholstery such as car seats, couches and stools you may have used in the past 48 hours.

5. Treat your pets as well. Your veterinarian will prescribe an injection or medication for the pets. Dogs can get scabies but it is referred to as Sarcoptic mange. It is very difficult to pass back to humans yet will be miserable for the dog until it is treated.
