A Get Ring Off A Really Bloated Finger

Bloated fingers can make removing a ring from your finger difficult.

Having a ring stuck on your finger is often a frustrating ordeal. When your fingers are bloated, it makes removing the ring seem impossible. Also, there is the discomfort of having the ring stuck on your finger and not being able to remove it. If the ring is of value, perhaps you would want to remove it without having it cut from your finger. There are remedies you can try that can help in removing the ring without damage.

Instructions

1. Run cold water over your hand. Cold water may help in reducing the bloating, which may allow you to slide the ring off.

2. Apply lubricating substances to your finger before attempting to slide the ring off. Mayonnaise, dish washing liquid or oil may help create a smoother surface to allow you to slide the ring from your finger.

3. Attempt to twist the ring to see if it will bulge. Twisting and working the ring over your knuckle may help in getting it off. Stop if there is any pain.

4. Use dental floss to remove the ring. Slide one end of the floss under the back of the ring. Wrap the other end of the floss tightly around your knuckle and the skin near the ring. Grab the end under the back of the ring and use it to unwrap the string from your finger. The ring will steadily move over the floss and slide off as you unwrap it from your finger.

5. Go to the emergency room. If home remedies do not help in getting the ring off your finger, it may have to be cut off.
