Yoga
Yoga is a practice that is designed around the art of breathing. Taking classes with a trained yoga teacher teaches you to breathe properly throughout your entire workout or stretch routine. During yoga, move with your breath and only go as deep into a stretch as you can while still breathing deeply.
Meditation
Meditation is a practice you can do any time of the day. Sit up straight, close your eyes, and focus on clearing your mind of conscious thought. Every time your mind wanders, bring your thoughts back only to your breath.The longer you meditate, the deeper and calmer your breathing becomes, which relaxes you.
Cardiovascular Exercise
The more you participate in cardiovascular exercise, the better at proper breathing you will get. When starting out with a new exercise such as running, bike riding, or swimming, it is easy to let your breath get out of control. This causes you to tire out quickly.
