Razor Burn & Home Remedies

Razor burn is something that strikes without warning, and home remedies are the best relief. Almost anyone will have at least one of these home remedies available. They do take away the sting and make you feel better, but the rash will probably stay for a while. They also work on other types of stings and itches, such as insect bites.

Aspirin

Crush a couple of aspirin tablets and add just enough warm--not hot--water to make a paste. Leave it on for about a half hour.

Chamomile Tea

Make tea extra strong and let it cool. Soak a face rag in the tea, wring it out and lay it on the burn for about 15 minutes.

Deodorant

When you need a quick fix, try underarm deodorant, the roll-on kind. Fragrance-free is best, because the perfume can cause a rash.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Vinegar may seen a strange thing to put on a burn, but this type does work. Dip a face rag in the vinegar and pat it on gently.

Diaper Rash Ointment

It is the most obvious choice, but probably the last one someone would think of. It works and lubricates the skin at the same time.
