Dry Up Fluid In The Ears

Water that gets in the ears during swimming can be dried up.

Water gets in the ears during showers and swimming. If left in the ear for prolonged periods of time, it can cause an infection, according to Health Guidance website. This is why it is important to dry up fluid in the ears as soon as you notice it. A simple recipe from "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Healing Remedies" will easily dry up fluid in the ears and can also help with infections. Always consult a physician if problems persist after a home treatment.

Instructions

1. An eye dropper is perfect for applying ear "medication."

Use the eye dropper to put two or three drops of rubbing alcohol in each ear. Tip the head to one side and drop in the alcohol, hold the head in position for about 10 seconds, then turn head and repeat in the other ear. The rubbing alcohol will dry up the water that is in the ear. It's always important to have rubbing alcohol in your medicine cabinet for times like these. If it feels like water is still in your ear, repeat the steps again.

2. Ear infections can cause pain and itching.

Mix small, equal amounts of white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and water into a cup. Drop this mixture into the ear with an eye dropper to help kill any bacteria that may have started to grow because of the water in the ears. Again, put in two to three drops and let the solution sit in the ear for about a minute or two, then tilt head and let it drain while doing the other ear. Feel free to use a cotton ball to catch any drips.

3. Add moisture back into the ears by putting in a drop or two of baby oil or sweet oil. Using alcohol to dry up the water in the ear can also dry up the tender skin inside the ear. After putting in the oil, seal the end of the ear with a cotton ball and leave it for about 5 minutes so that the oils can be absorbed.
