Install And Use A Bidet Toilet Seat

Bidet toilet seats offer all the advantages of a freestanding bidet.

Bidet toilet sets enable men and women to wash their private parts just as easily as with a freestanding bidet, yet they are much easier to install and do not require calling a plumber. You will tap into the existing cold water valve that refills your toilet bowl and use the toilet's existing drainage system. Once installed, you'll be able to clean yourself Euro-style.

Instructions

Installation

1. Measure your existing toilet with measuring tape before ordering your bidet kit, sized for your toilet seat. Different bidet seat manufactures require different combinations of measurements, so refer to the manufacturers instruction's before taking measurements. Order a kit with a seat that is small enough and appropriately shaped to fit easily inside your bowl.

2. Remove your existing toilet seat by unscrewing the bolts with a screwdriver. Clean the entire toilet thoroughly with a soft cloth and cleanser.

3. Mount the bidet seat into your toilet using the parts that came with the kit. Screw the mounting bracket into the holes used to secure the old toilet seat. Slide the bidet onto the mounting bracket and you should hear an audible clicking sound.

4. Turn off the water valve that connects to the back of your toilet. Flush the toilet until there is no water left in the tank. Unscrew the hose from the water valve and reattach it to the metal T-connection that came with your seat. Reconnect the hose going to the toilet to the top of the T-connection. Connect the hose that came with the seat to the bottom of the T-connection on one end and to the bidet on the other. Tighten all connections with a wrench. Turn the water valve back on and check for leaks.

Use

5. Remove your pants and underwear and face the controls of the bidet. Adjust the water to an appropriate level and temperature.

6. Position your genital and anus area so that the water is streaming toward them. With some models, you will be able to sit down, whereas others will require you to squat. You may use soap to wash yourself if you desire, or just let the water do the work.

7. Dry yourself with toilet paper and and rinse the bidet bowl with low pressure water.

8. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.
