Try dissolving crushed pills in juice.
If you or someone in your family has a difficult time swallowing pills, crushing them and mixing them into food or drink for consumption might be a simple solution. Crushed pills can be added to apple sauce or pudding and dissolved in tea or soup. Crushing a pill can be an easy process but you must find a way to prevent the resulting pieces or powder from scattering and spilling. Cellophane, a packaging material for many household products, can be used to hold the pills while you crush them.
Instructions
1. Remove the cellophane wrapper from a package. Cookie, cracker and cigarette packages are all excellent sources of cellophane. Remove the cellophane in a manner that keeps it relatively intact to ensure pill material does not spill.
2. Place one dose of medicine -- a pill or pills -- in the
3. Place the bag on a flat, cleared surface such as the kitchen counter or the counter next to the restroom sink. Make sure the surface is durable because you will be applying pressure to the area.
4. Hit the pill or pills one time with the rubber mallet or heavy object hard enough to break the pills into pieces. Continue striking the pills with softer blows until they are reduced to a fine powder.
5. Shake the cellophane container so that the powder collects in one corner. Position the container so the powder pours out into your food or drink of choice. Stir food or drink to mix in the powder.
