Make Cucumber And Lime Body Soap

Make your own soap.

Cucumber and lime body soap is a very easy-to-make alternative to the expensive soaps sold in retail stores. Making your own soaps also allows you to tailor the soap to your specific skin care needs. Cucumber and lime body soap is best used by those with oily, irritated skin, as the cucumber will help to reduce redness while the lime reduces excessive sebum buildup on your skin's surface. This recipe makes 2 lbs of soap, which can easily be sliced into smaller bars.

Instructions

1. Slice the glycerin soap bar into small pieces using a sharp knife and place them in a heat-proof measuring cup.

2. Fill a large saucepan halfway with distilled water. Place the heat-proof measuring cup in the large saucepan and heat on low for 14 to 16 minutes.

3. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the essential oils, vegetable glycerin and vitamin E cream. Stir the mixture with a glass stirrer for 45 to 60 seconds or until the mixture begins to thicken.

4. Pour the liquid soap into the soap bar mold you have picked out. Leave the soap to set for 6 to 8 hours in a cool, dark and dry place.

5. Remove the soap from the soap bar mold and store in a cool, dry place until ready to use.
