Humans consume toxins on a daily basis through practical everyday living. Through the air we breathe, the foods we eat and the water we drink, it is inevitable to avoid toxins. Because toxins build up from blood in the liver, kidneys, intestines, lungs and skin, it is recommended that you detoxify your body at least once a year. Removing toxins from the body can increase your energy, improve your skin appearance and even help with menstrual issues. Several safe methods to remove toxins from the body exist.
Instructions
1. Stop consuming unhealthy items that are loaded with toxins. These include alcohol, cigarettes and any other type of drug. Also reduce the amount of chemical-based cleaning products you use around your house; use natural alternatives instead (e.g., soap and water.)
2. Eat a fiber-filled diet. This includes increasing the amounts of brown rice and organically grown fresh fruits and vegetables you eat. Increased fiber in your diet can aid the digestion process and is a safe, natural way to cleanse the colon. Eating beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli and seaweed are ideal for detoxification.
3. Drink green tea and water, and take vitamin C to remove toxins from the liver. Drink at least 2 quarts of water on a daily basis and take a vitamin C supplement a day. The vitamin C helps with the production of glutathione, which helps the liver get rid of toxins.
4. Sweat. The perspiration will help with toxin removal. Spend time in a sauna or take a hot shower. After a five-minute hot shower, run cool water over your body for 30 seconds. Then run the hot water again for five more minutes, and then run the cold water again for 30 seconds. Alternate the hot and cold water process two more times. Running cold water in between helps rinse away any waste leaving your body with the perspiration from the hot water. Sleep right afterward for at least 30 minutes. This will allow your body to rest and relieve stress by resetting your physical and mental reactions.
