Weight Watchers Information On Use The Points

Weight Watchers is a diet program that encourages members to lose weight through moderate eating and regular exercise. Instead of focusing on counting calories, members keep track of the number of points they eat each day. The Weight Watchers point system does not require members to buy special meals or diet supplements.


Instructions








1. Find out how many points you can consume daily. Weight Watchers uses the height, weight and sex of the member to calculate daily point allowances. Members who are breastfeeding mothers receive extra points until they are no longer nursing a baby. As a member loses weight, the number of points they can consume decreases.








2. Calculate the points value of each meal or snack. Weight Watchers provides members with online calculators and eating-out guides that give the point value of food items. There are also Weight Watchers cookbooks that include the number of points each recipe contains. Weight Watchers calculates points by taking a food items calories, fat, fiber and protein into account. Foods that are high in protein and fiber have fewer points than foods containing empty calories.


3. Subtract the number of points from the daily allowance after each meal or snack. Staying below the number of points you are given will speed the weight loss process. If you exceed your point allowance, exercise to increase your number of points.
