Use Nutmeg To Treat Blackheads

Use Nutmeg to Treat Blackheads

Blackheads are a form of acne in which pores become clogged from dead skin cells and a special oil secreted through glands attached to the pores. In pores with large openings, the built up skin and oil mass becomes exposed to air and oxidized. The result of oxidation is the dark color associated with blackheads. There are many reputed home remedies and alternative treatments for acne. Nutmeg scrubs and masks stand out from the crowd.

Instructions

Practice Gentle Hygiene

1. Wash the affected area with a gentle cleanser at least once every day.

2. Rinse your face with fresh water and pat dry with a clean towel.

3. Sleep on clean pillowcases. Change them frequently--at least once each week.

Use a Lentil and Nutmeg Scrub

4. Purchase powdered orange lentil or grind dried orange lentils into a fine powder.

5. Stir together 5 tsp. orange lentil powder and 1 tsp. nutmeg powder.

6. Stir 1 cup milk or water into the lentil/nutmeg powder.

7. Treat the affected area with the lentil/nutmeg scrub. Rinse thoroughly. Pat dry.

8. Store leftover scrub in the refrigerator.

Treat the Skin with Soothing Nutmeg Paste

9. Mix small amounts of water or milk with nutmeg powder to make a thick paste.

10. Use the paste as a mask. Apply liberally to the affected area and allow it to dry completely.

11. Rinse away the mask with warm water and a soft washcloth. Do not scrub. Pat dry.

12. Store leftover paste made with water in the refrigerator up to a few days. Discard leftover paste made with milk.
