Treat Bunions With Foot Soaks

Treat Bunions With Foot Soaks

That bony protrusion on the outside of your big toe, is often referred to as a bunion. Bunions can be inherited or can form as a consequence of poorly fitting shoes. While bunion removal may require surgery, you can treat your bunions by soaking them.

Instructions

1. Take out a large bowl or bin to use as a foot bath. Alternatively, consider purchasing an electric foot bath that heats water and has a whirlpool feature.

2. Put a layer of stones on the bottom of your foot bath. The stones massage your feet naturally.

3. Fill the tub with enough warm water to cover your ankles. Add 1/2 cup Epsom salts to the water.

4. Place 5 drops of peppermint extract and 3 drops of tea tree oil in the water. Use your hand to mix the water.

5. Soak your feet in the water. Turn on the whirlpool feature if available. Rub the soles of your feet over the stones.

6. Remove your feet after 15 minutes of soaking. Dry feet with a warm towel.

7. Massage your feet with moisturizing lotion to prevent dryness. Repeat the bunion treatment bath several times per week.
