Tea
Instructions
1. To make tea, pour a cup of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of the herb. The herb can be placed in a brewing basket or other type of tea strainer to aid in removing the herb from the water. Allow it to stand for 10 minutes, then strain the herbs.
2. Chamomile is a traditional herb used to promote relaxation and sleep. It is found in name brand herbal teas sold as sleep aids, such as Celestial Seasonings "Sleepytime" tea.
3. Valerian is a natural herbal sedative. It has been used to effectively promote sleep and treat anxiety. Because of it's relaxing properties it make a very effective tea to aid in sleep.
4. The caffeine found in black tea, coffee and chocolate can interfere with sleep. Herbal teas, or green teas, usually do not contain caffeine. Always avoid drinking caffeinated beverages, including tea, in the evening before you go to sleep. If you suffer from chronic insomnia, you may benefit from avoiding caffeine completely.
