Microgynon Instructions

Taking Microgynon only requires consistency.

Microgynon, a hormone-based oral contraceptive, is a product mainly distributed in the United Kingdom for the purposes of general birth control and menstrual cycle control. Its pills come in packs of twenty one, each containing the same amount of synthetic versions of the naturally occurring female sex hormones that "override" the period cycle. Maintaining a regular regimen of the pill is relatively simple, as Microgynon is taken similarly to American birth control pills, with a few minor differences.

Instructions

1. Take your first Microgynon pill on the first day that you start your period. On the opposite side of the Microgynon pack, there should be days of the week behind each pill. Select a pill on the day of the week of the first day of your period. Take only one pill per day.

2. Take one pill at the exact same time of day, once a day, over the next twenty days.

3. Stop taking the pills, when you reach the end of the pack, for seven days. During this time, you will be experiencing bleeding similar to menstrual bleeding. Seven days after the last pill, begin your next pill, regardless of whether or not you are still experiencing bleeding.
